S&M Vacation: Las Vegas – Part 3

When you book a late flight and have no friend to spend time with you, what am I suppose to do? None of this day was planned, and it filled up pretty quickly. So here’s farewell to Las Vegas, I can’t wait to see you again.

Thank you for the memories

The party was over, and it was time to get packing. Melvyn had a flight first thing in the morning, while my flight was later in the evening. So I helped Melvyn get an Uber to the airport, and we parted ways, waiting for the next vacation. I planned on meeting my Uncle later that day, and decided to check the amenities while I still had the chance. This would be the only time I ever entered the hotel’s pool, and it was stunning. Looking over Paris and Planet Hollywood, the pool had endless beach chairs, cascading levels and hallways, some of them wading in the pool. The last meal before check-out was a restaurant I’ve wanted to try ever since everyone posted on Instagram: Momofuku. Not much in the mood, I decided to go for the ramen, which was much comforting after a series of non-stop partying.

Hope to occupy you soon

By noon, I said goodbye to the Cosmopolitan and waited for pick-up from my Uncle, taking me on a trip outside of the city. I rarely see my Uncle Renny, so spending the day with him was a great opportunity. Despite eating an hour before meeting up, he asked me what I wanted for lunch. So I simply replied with one word: Jollibee. If there was one thing missing from vacation, it was definitely the Filipino fast food chain. Much as I enjoy the Chicken Joy, I decided to try something new and go for the featured burger, which was really juicy. What I didn’t expect was the dessert we got from Magnolia Ice Cream, and the snack-sized halo halo was just the fix I needed, despite my stomach about to explode.

Fulfillment filled

We went to pick up my Aunt Lydia, who was joining us for the Affordable Shopping Destination Market Week, a convention show I was not ready to handle. The Las Vegas Convention Center is large, filled with vendors of categories I never thought existed, and my feet had to keep trekking along the way. There were Dollar Store sections, Cannabis accessories, and food varieties I never thought I would try (bugs in nacho chips? Not so bad). I didn’t realize how big was the market, but there are departments dedicated to countries, as well as second-hand luxury items, just a variety of items that you wouldn’t expect. Overall, it’s fun to see another side of Vegas, a home to conventions that occur every week (told by my Uncle).

Vendor after vendor

For the remainder of the day, we went to my Uncle’s house and watched “The Kindness Diaries” while waiting for my flight – I must say, that show is very inspiring. Once the time came around, Uncle Renny dropped me off, and took a photo to prove that I spent time with him for my family. What I didn’t realize was how early I was at the airport: I was the first one at check-in. So I walked around the terminal, and bought myself some dinner for the last meal in the States (fast food, what a way to leave the States).

Many thanks to the Uncle

The flight wasn’t bad, it went pretty fast for a two-hour flight. My seatmates, however, were being very rude to me, suggesting that I move to another row. I understood that I had more space if I had a row, but I was sleeping and tired. Regardless, the seatmate’s friend moved, but the seatmate himself stayed in the same row. Needless to say, he was being very difficult. Nonetheless, I arrived home got out of customs smoothly as possible. Got picked up by my mother, and headed home – there’s no place quite like it.

Time for bed now

I cannot wait for the next adventure – that is, once I pay my credit card bills. Thanks to Melvyn for going on vacation with me, hope to see him soon. That is all for now.
